MELBOURNE TO DARWIN AS A TAG-ALONG TOUR-24 DAYS
This tour covers some of the most spectacular parts of this huge continent. From the breathtaking scenery of the Great Ocean Road to the outback of South Australia, a drive along the historic Oodnadatta Track and an unforgettable visit to Coober Pedy, the "Opal Capital" of Australia.
Experience the Centre of Australia with highlights such as Uluru and Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and of course "The Alice". In many cases we travel off the beaten track in Four-Wheel Drive vehicles and are therefore in the best position to experience the "real" Australia. From the Centre our journey takes us to the Top End of Australia into Gregory National Park, Katherine Gorge, Kakadu National Park and Litchfield - places you will remember for a long time to come.
TAG-ALONG TOUR
A Tag-Along tour requires you to have or hire your own suitable 4WD vehicle. The vehicle must be roadworthy and equipped for outback travel and camping. If you hire a vehicle we highly recommend something like a Toyota Bushcamper which is more or less a fully self-contained 4WD camper. Please talk to your travel agent in regards to suitable and reliable hire car companies.
Our Melbourne to Darwin tour is offered as a Tag-Along tour. It is a self-drive tour designed for travelers who do not want to sit as a passenger in a vehicle with 20, 30 or 40 other people but prefer the adventure of self-drive with the safety of other vehicles and guidance of experienced tour leaders.
We travel in convoy interconnected with radios and commentary and advice delivered in an entertaining format by your guide. Communication in an emergency is absolutely essential and the lead vehicle carries a Satalite Phone and a Flying Doctor Radio for your safety.
The travel style allows participants to travel in the comfort and convenience of their own vehicle but within the safety net of other vehicles.
